What are the benefits of permeable pavers?
What is pervious pavement?
Pervious pavement, or pervious concrete, is a larger rock that is mixed with a clear glue like substance. Once it dries there are large areas inside the pavement that the water flows through.
What are the benefits of Pervious Pavements?
This very porous pavement eliminates standing water while removing pollutants from rain water and snow. Like permeable pavers, pervious pavement redistributes rain water naturally avoiding erosion. If you live in the North Lake Tahoe area you can gain extra coverage for your next outdoor project.
Can pervious concrete be made in different colors?
We have a couple ways that we can change the color of the project. We have a large selection of rich, vibrant, and earthy cement colors that will greatly enhance the look of your project. Another way we can change the color is through the aggregate and finishing technique used on the project. We welcome you to look at our color chart and the different aggregate and finishes that we use.
What is the expected lifespan of pervious concrete?
Same as traditional concrete, 30-50 years.
Is pervious pavement ADA compliant?
Yes. Pervious concrete meets ADA requirements for both smoothness and flatness.
Is pervious concrete really concrete?
Yes, it is. Pervious concrete is made with aggregate (rocks), portland cement and water, just like regular concrete. By leaving out the fine aggregate/sand and making very specific changes in the mix proportions, we are able to create a large quantity (approx. 25%) of interconnected voids. Compressive strengths are generally in the 3,000 psi range.
